450 ignition upgrades

Looking to upgrade the ignition on my 450 from the distributor up. I would like a strong precise spark. Tractor is thought to have m&w pistons in it. Probably going to eliminate the points. Any ideas on what would work well together would be appreciated
 
I am usually a leading edge guy, will upgrade to Pertronix at some point, but still have points in my H.

Why do you think you need a strong precise spark?
 
Pertronix electronic ignition works well. I don't think it is better than the points and concensor if adjusted right, just doesn't get out of adjustment. I have the setup in 2 tractors and a jeep and find it trouble free. I think I would also buy the coil recommended by Pertronix for your setup. All of this won't help if your distributor is worn and/or advance mechanism isn't working. I think if you want better response or more pep you might work on the governor and fuel system
 
If you bave a decent distributer nothing you do will increase power, if it makes you feel better, do it, all it will do is make your imagination work. Petronex will last longer, but if it dies in the field, you walk away. With points it can be fixed.
 
I just got the tractor back in the family and when I get a new tractor I usually replace the service parts in the ignition just to know and figured I might as well upgrade what I can to better than original
