460 What To Offer

Morning all. I need help because I know nothing about Farmall tractors and this lady told me to make her an offer. It doesn't run it had a LP leak and her grandson started to work on it but in her words he can't change plugs. The oil looks real clean and I knew her husband and he took care of his stuff. It probably hasn't run in 10 years or so. It's a 460 LP and it has a Shwarts front end on it. It has a remote on the back and 2 under the hood on the steering box one on each side. I remember when he got it about 35 years ago because their daughter was my girlfriend at the time. The serial number is 30828 C-S-Y and I would appreciate any and all information and help with this. What do you think it's worth? Thanks.

I'll try and load the pictures again.

I don't know I tried to turn it with the fan but the belt slipped. I'm going back to try and turn it this week. The back tires look good in the pictures but they have some bad cracking on the side walls. There's wires hanging everywhere that doesn't go to anything anymore. Does this model have the TA I hear people taking about being out or not working? I'm kind of afraid to but much money in it not running. I don't know if the TA Trans or rear end has something wrong with it or not. It could be a big chunk of scrap iron and that ain't worth much now. Another thing is it don't have power steering as far as I can tell. If I get it it's going to be fun getting my buddy to pull it home with his tractor.

I don't see the TA lever. It could be a TA delete from the factory or removed later. Most 560 and 460 tractors had
Power Steering but not all. On the left hand side check to see if steel lines go up towards the radiator. $ 1500 should buy one that runs and drives.

A 460 will most likely have a TA - handle on the left side of the platform, but it was an option. Bump the starter button and see if it turns over while jumping it. If the engine is froze I wouldn't bother with it if you are new to old tractors. Just getting one running after years of setting can be handful, let alone dealing with trying to break an engine free or having to rebuild it.

There is a steel line going to the front for power steering, and several pieces on that tractor that would make it part out decent money I don't know that 1500 is fair to you but , you should pick your own number between 500-1500 that you are comfortable paying , a running gas engine would set you back another 1000 is that one is toast , so my questing is do you want a 460 lp ? If so buy it if not buy it cheap and post it here someone will buy it for parts.

Looks to me like it never had a TA. None of the linkage is there If the motors loose I'd say 1k without it running worst case there's lots of good parts there
