A "B" and an "M" hanging out with the big green ones.

Up until I got a B John Deere I had all red tractors. I brought the green machine home, put it in the shed with the red tractors, and instantly my Cub refused to start and it always started perfectly before.

I have a Ford - Deere - Farmall - and they all are great, even have a Volvo too. They all have their pros/cons but honestly NONE are BAD - So you will find a red, green, yellow, white, black and blue rattle cans around my place to go with them HA!!!

Ford = 1995 GT75 Shibaura Diesel 16HP/60" deck - Dual Range Hydro/Power Steering ( will be for sale soon )

Deere = 1949 B and 1944 Wartime Slant Dash All Fuel - both all original. Non Restored users. One was the one I grew up on ( my GPAs ) got the 44 A from his brother my great uncle when my cousins found it in the barn in Nebraska and were going to scrap it. So glad I got to buy it from them.

Deere = 2210 Compact Diesel 23HP Yanmar 62" mid deck/loader

Farmall - 560 Diesel Dad has a 706/German 310 Diesel/Cab

Volvo - MC110 86hp Perkins Diesel

Grew up on a 400 LPG with the Deere, I like the torque/lug of the 400 engine much better than the 560 6cyl.

I love my dads 706 German Diesel, that engine is sweet!!!! I found it for him cause I knew at his age I would be using it too LOL he is 76 - it starts when its 0 out and doesn't even have glow plugs craziest thing I have ever seen.

I pull a 15 foot kewannee disk with 4to5 foot wings on it and don't really lack power but need more traction!!! I have been nothing but impressed with that 706, only thing is the shifter is kind of a pain shifting when trying to go forward and backward its finicky and worn and takes a lot of force to move it at times. It lugs way better than the IH 282 diesel engine. I love the hydraulic brakes/clutch and easy steering vs that of the 400/560 brakes/steering. They are not nearly as refined.

I grew up farming for many different farmers with different tractors. I would have to say far as creature comforts and refinement/cabs the Deeres were ahead most of the time with the Ford/New Holland close behind. I loved the Brazillian diesels in the Fords back in the day they were stout like the IH engines. I grew up on 7720 Ford, 9600/9700 Ford, TW20 Ford/New Holland, 4020 and 4440 Deere, 400/560/706/806/856/1066/1206 Farmall/IHs. No Agco other than a White rebranded Oliver? 2-105. I did like the Allis D17 it was a stout little tractor but it lacked traction it either wasn't balanced well, or just lighter.

I would say the Farmall Gassers sucked the most fuel - The Brazillian Diesels were awesome - The Deere Cabs were comfy - and the best workhorse was the 856/1066, I loved the IH for sheer work, easy driving, rarely needed anything but fuel and a driver. Cool Factor was the 9600 Ford, it had a lope to it like no other HA!!!! I think it was something in the pump.

The TW20 or 4440 deere would be a toss up for me regarding power and comfy. I think the TW20 had the same engine as the 9600.

The White was always needing repaired it was not very reliable I hated working for that farmer LOL.
