What break in oil should I use? Out of frame OH, didn't find much info in archives. thanks john

you use what ever oil is recommended. the first startups are important and dont want some thin junk in there. years ago the thing was to use mineral first. but thats a crock. also more important to run it at a fast idle and to operating temerature first thing. then put under a light load for the first while but not prolonged. then vary the load . no prolonged slow idling.

30 w low ash , run for 10 hrs change oil and filter then again at 30 hrs .

Vary the Rpm's and load , no heavy work for the first 30 hours .
Also at the thirty hr. mark recheck the head torque and readjust the valve . make sure your ing timing is at 19 degrees at wide open throttle .
