have a 240 utility that i use for brush hogging. i picked up a woods rm600 3 pt finish mower and was looking to use it on the 240u. i found the prongs available but there doesnt seem to be a top link bracket available, sooo the option is the one piece. how will that work onthe rm600? the woods uses check chains to set mower depth when you lower the 3 point, and the lower lift brackets pivot so the deck will "float" the top link bracket on the woods also has a pivot on it. will this set up work on a one piece adapter? the 240u is the large point fast hitch.

Not all that hard to make a center link hook up for that 240. All you need to do is make a part tha twill bolt to the floor area on it or use a clevis sort of thing around the lift round bar. I have done both on many of the old Farmall fast hitch tractors

there is a pad behind the seat on the top deck that has 3 blind threaded holes in it, prolly 3/8 bolts. the row crop does have a bracket available, but not the utility. guy that sells the adapters and points recommended the one piece. i was curious if there was an issue with a top link bracket on the utility. its real tight to try and get something around the rockshaft. i would rather use the points instead of the one piece.

Years ago I bent a piece of flat stock that would fit around the rock shaft on most any of the Farmall. The center link does not need to be super strong for what you want to do and piece of 1/8 inch flat stock bent with holes in it for a pin will work just fine.

The IH commercial 3-point hitch on the 240 Utility used the 3-hole pad behind the seat to mount the top link bracket. You should easily be able to make up something that uses the same pad and is good enough for a mower.

thanks jim and rich, i wasnt sure if that pad was strong enough for a top link. i'll make a bracket for it.

Right or wrong I made this contraption to use on A woods mower on my Super c. Fastened to transmission housing sides above the pto housing.

Good idea, those 1-piece units are kind of rare and expensive when you do find them, usually. Sometimes you can luck out and pick one up at a junk auction, though.
