Farmall Super A heavy duty axle pinion bushings.

Can anyone give me an alternative to having to buy the Farmall bushings. Part #60386DR. They are $70 a piece. Ouch. Anyone have a cross reference to a cheaper solution. Thanks
 
Check the id and od probably can get them from a supplier rather than from I-H. Is the shaft worn or will you neede to get another one made.I replaced mine with steel i made on a lathe
 
You could try having them made at a machine shop, but I expect they'll cost more than $70 each when all is said and done.

There's a cost to keeping parts in stock for 70 years' worth of tractors that may or may not ever sell, and there has to be a profit motive for someone to do so. Yes it's tough to give up that pound of flesh, but the alternative is giving two pounds of flesh to the machinist or junking the tractor...
 

Gene that's what I have been searching for and can't fine one by searching the size I need. Found one brass one but is was not the split type with hole and grooves to grease it. Can't make my shaft it is on an Industrial Super A. It has the bell housing brace. Thanks
 
Vic it has been 4 or 5 years but I got two from a company called [igus plastic bushings, I think], I'm sure you could google them, I think some of the technology they have now with plastic does better then brass sometime, but I'm no engineer, anyway at the time they wasn't going to be much, but they sent me two for free just to try them, it may be worth a phone call, good luck.
 
Grease isnt the problem you arent faring 10hrs a day with the tractor. NYLON would also be a good material for a bushing up and down movement of the axle isnt enough to even accound for lube all the bushings do is take a little slop forward and backward which isnt enough to worry about i would be more concerned about steerng slop.Do you need a shaft i think is have some used ones not bent ect
