Farmall A timing marks.

I am working on a Farmall A - repairing the governor. I noticed the timing mark on the cam and governor drive was one tooth off. So I took the timing cover off and the cam and crank was one tooth off. I want to confirm that two dots on the cam go to one dot on the crank. Is that correct? Thanks

single dot goes with the single dot likewise the two dots go with the two dots if not the cam would be out of time it would also mess up the mag timing. When the dots are lined up the rotor on the mag will be at TDC firing#1 so make sure the rotor is lined up with #1 on the tower wire goes to #1 plug which is the first plug at the front next to the radiator. Its very important to have all dots and rotor correct.

I have to look again - I know there is two dots on the cam gear but I think only one on the crank. There is a single dot on the cam gear that was one tooth off the mag gear. That is what lead me to investigate further.
