Hey I have a Farmall MD and the previous owner who used it for pulling has passed away but he was the only one who knew what modifications were done to the tractor so out of curiosity I pulled the head off the Tractor and it looks as if the previous owner bored it out until he hit where the coolant/water should be then put a wet sleeve and piston from a different diesel in it (since nobody that I'm aware of made wet sleeves and pistons that big for an MD) is this possible? Also it roall's coal like crazy any time its under heavy load so there must be something done to the fuel system/injectors. Does anyone have a ballpark idea of how much horsepower this setup would make? and if I were to pull with this tractor is there a chance it would grenade the transmission from that extra power? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I think they will all[IHC} will roll the smoke,he went thru a lot of work, to get that extra horsepower, my guess is 60 hp, and dont worry about the tranny, the ones with the M@W stoker kit, never heard of a tranny failure.

Thanks and the reason I was worried about the transmission was because it had the M&W transmission add-on that gave it a few extra gears and it striped those out.

(quoted from post at 20:24:46 07/11/16) M @ W had quality gears, when they made them,I guess i am at a Loss there. So have you had it on a dyno?
No I don't know where to find a pto dyno to test it on. There used to be a dyno at one of my local tractor shows (The Milton Stream Era) but it never comes to the show anymore
