Farmall A oil pressure

My friend has a Farmall A with little to no oil pressure, He received the tractor not running. It runs now and sounds great but oil pressure will not get out of red. We put another guage on and it will not get above 10. We pulled the oil pump and ground the warp out of the bottom piece making a solid fit. Didn't seem to help at all. the tractor runs so smooth it is hard to believe the bearings are that bad. We are stumped.

They could be that bad, my 113 never had much oil pressure either, well after that ,i put in a 123, with new bearings, and it now has over 50, it's got a 45 lb gauge, and it pegs that hot or cold, with 30 weight low ash engine oil, Dont let the mechanics tell you maybe it's the gauge, those old ihc gauges are right on, because i put a t in the line, and run with both gauges, a new and a old one, they are both pegged!

What weight oil is he running?? Thicker oil means more pressure. I run 20W-50 in most of my stuff and my BA when I start it has good pressure but once real warm it goes do to just above the red line on the gauge

Is the pressure relief built into the pump? Take and put a thin washer behind the spring and see if that raises the oil pressure. It does not take a very thick washer to raise the pressure a lot.I did that a 340u once and worked great-was acting same as yours.Mark
