'51 Super C paint job

Following a complete rebuild on a '51 SC what is recommended for the painting color? The original paint color for a '51 was a little different than that used starting in about 1954. Those painted afterwards were painted the color that "about" matches the Case-IH #2150. The only company I'm aware of that sells the original color for a '51 is TISCO, which is sold on this website. it's said to be an enamel with alkyd. Has any one had experience using this paint? Is it worth any extra effort to use the TISCO paint verses the Case-IH #2150 just in order to get the exact, correct color?.

99.9% of all Farmalls that get restored are painted with IH 2150. It was a corporate decision to switch to the 2150, and make all other colors of red obsolete.

You will never get the exact color because of the EPA's modifications. 2150 is close and a much better paint than Tisco.

IH 2150 works good, looks good.

Try Fordson house. They have original paint codes and have paint for all the different tractor era's.

How did you get that kind of shine, deepness, and gloss??
I use Case IH 2150 with hardener and spray with an HVLP gun. I've probably painted 35-40 tractors within the past 7 years. I've also used Automotive Acrylic Enamel paint with Hardener. I haven't been able to get those kind of results after putting on 2-3 coats. Here are some of my tractors I've painted..........
