Farmall 400 Power Steering

Our Farmall 400 lost its power steering. The steering wheel just spins with action on the wide front. Its power steering unit is IH and is connected to the tractors hydraulics.

Are the IH PS units rebuildable?

Before condemming the unit, make sure the shafts going into and out of it are keyed/splined as intended. I think (but do not know) that parts are available. Either from CaseIH, or aftermarket. Jim

Most likely spot for failure is the connector between front of steering motor and worm shaft. Also, if it happens to have the short worm with splined end connecting to splined end coming form steering motor, other possibility. Only saw them on 450's though.
