Clutch rattle

On my 1972 Cub tractor the clutch pedal rattles sometimes when released. If you just barley hold on the pedal with your foot "maybe a quarter of an inch" the rattle goes away. This tractor has a woods belly mower on it. I cant imagine that causing this but just wanted to through that into the mix. I mow almost an acre of yard with this tractor weekly so she only "sits" in the non mowing seasons. Any help would be gratly appreciated........ :? ......Kenny

Increase the free play of the pedap to an inch and a quarter or an inch and a half. This will pull the Throwout bearing away from the fingers and stop the
rattle. The throwout pilot shaft (which the carrier rides on) may be worn. Check that when doing the clutch the next time it needs one. Jim

I had one that had a bad pilot bearing and made rattle, viberating noise.
Could be the clutch bearing also.
