Upgrade to letter series tractors

This year I had the cultivators on my H so I have been using my F14 for raking hay. I've raked hay with it many times so no big deal. Today I got the cultivators off the H and raked the last of the hay with it. Maybe its because I'm getting older but I realized what farmers must have felt when they traded in the F series for one of the new letter series tractors. Easier to get onto, much more comfortable to sit on and run, probably got electric start and just an all around easier tractor to work with. I will always like the F series tractors but in small amounts.

I had a similar feeling when haying this year. My primary big tractor was a SMTA. I purchsed a 560D last fall and used it more this year. Found it was much easier to get on and off and more room on the platform and seat is much more comfortable. Then there is the fact that it burned so much less fuel than the SMTA

Illl tell you the real way to make the H a comfort to drive.... put a back rest on that steel seal! Wow, the difference. Lumbar support!!!!

Last year I cultivated 30 acres of soybeans with an F-20 and a G-221 gear lift cultivator. Now I cultivate 50 acres with my H and HM-221 cultivator, I would definitely agree that the letter series tractors are more ergonomic, although the gear lift system on the f-20 is slightly more reliable than the hydraulics on my H.
