Super C won't start

Super C starts right up after sitting a week or two and runs fine. However, when i shut it off after distinguish for an hour, it won't start. Cranks over good but no fire. Let it sit till next morning and it starts? What could be the problem? Thanks, Cmore

Probably either the condenser or coil. I have had heat affect both. Starters reduce the battery's output voltage. Maybe the starter is reducing the voltage enough to prevent firing when the condenser or coil is hot.

You need to learn to trouble shoot it.
#1 make sure you have a good blue/white spark at the coil wire and at all the plug wires.
#2 pull the carb drain plug and make sure you have a good steady flow of gas for 3 minutes and in less then that time fill a pint jar. Look for dirt and or water.
#3 when was the last time you checked the air cleaner and dumped the mud and water out of it

Your right Old. But checking for spark is kinda difficult when you are by yourself. Good gas flow, air cleaner is fine.

Why is it hard to check for spark by your self I do it all the time. Only time I find t to be hard is on my hand crank JD an to check spark on it yep you pretty much need 2 people. You should be able to hit the starter button and also hold a plug or plug wire clsoe to the block and watch for spark. By the way not only does it need to be a blue white it needs to jump a 1/4 inch or more. By the way another way to check for spark is to hot wire it. That way you can touch the coil with the hot wire them pull it off and you should have a good spark at the center wire of the distributor cap

Typical of (some not all) causes of no start after she's good and hot are: Points burned or pitted or carboned over,,,,,,,,,,,Faulty Condensor,,,,,,,,,,,,,Faulty Ignition Coil.

You might try to lightly clean/buff/polish the points but if they are burned so badly then need filed, they wont last long. Since its relatively inexpensive you might try a set of points and condensor first and then move on to a more expensive coil.

If you're by yourself you can pull the coil wire out of the dist cap (leave coil end intact) and rig it it within 1/4 inch or so from tractor iron and turn her on and crank her over and look for a good visible spark???????????????
