Bought a really nice hunk of..... Super h

Well. I bought it. Just haven't seen that many super h tractors around. Guy also included that 460 560 seat for the $300. Thanks for the replies before. Should be able to make a decent machine. What is there is in good shape.

A few questions. What is the bracket for above the starter? Voltage regulator?
What lights go on this? Same as early h or the later 300 style?
Are these correct fenders? Might be able to get them.

Thanks again. I already gave serial numbers to Pat.

Fenders are correct just missing the plate that bolts to them with spacers and then on axle housing, also it takes the sealed beam lights that look like the ones on the 300, not sure on the bracket will have to look at mine to see what thats for.

Early SH can correctly have the tear drop lights, as the factory used up assemblies as the supply ran out. THe bracket is for the Gasoline fuel tank for starting this Distillate tractor. It is a stage 1 SH. With the exhaust off of the engine there will ne major repair inside (if not finding a nes block) The tires look good (assuming it has the tires on it as one photo seems to have only one. Fenders are correct but attached directly into the axle housing holes. Almost all are extended outward using a 6" plate to make more platform room. Good luck. Jim

Figured the engine would need a lot but hoping the block is good. Interesting on a distillate engine. I thought distillates had an odd manifold. Does that make the head different and less compression? What is the casting number I should look for on a distallite head? Thanks for the replies.

I'm seeing pictures of 2 different tractors. Not seeing anything that suggests distillate on either one. The bracket above the starter in the second picture is for the voltage regulator.

The one with the tires is an m that I am hoping to
get fenders from. The one I bought is the one that
has no rear tires or hood. We have an h with a bad
rear end that will be a donor.

SH was supposed to have the sealed beam lights since they didn't start until I think it was the second month of 53. If any happened to end up with the bulb type originally it would be a pretty low serial number.
Is that the same M with a band brake and ad on disc brake on a side? Like others posted I see no sign of anything but a gas tractor.

Yes. I should not have posted the last two pics of the m with the fenders. I only posted them to identify the fenders to make sure they would be right for the super h. I have extra 300 style lights so that is good news.

More questions. Is the gas tank on an early sh the same as an h? Generator the same?

Thanks again for all of the help.

I may be wrong, I looked at the mount shown in one pic, and compared it to the parts diagram for that component. The manifold is for gasoline. Best of luck with it. I hope the water has not filled a cylinder and cracked the sleeve and block. Jim

Early H used a different fuel tank but most H and stage one SH used the same tank. Some SH where made in the first month of 53, so my memory was off on the second month in other post. SH serial number 15216 would have sealed beam lights. H 340954 up and SH used a delco generator number 1100501 and H 1101355. Both will work.

Great memory on the serial number and great info!! Thanks for everyone's help. I will keep posting info as I pick it up and start messing with it.

Thanks.

Jason.
