tire driven shredders ?

What is the deal, are these home made? I suppose the rubber tire acts as the clutch also when the mower hits something. Would like a shredder for my M. Never knew about these things but they look like a smart design, yes?

I used to mow gas lines w/ an international side mount balanced head sickle bar mower & a FMC Sidewinder (tire driven) in the rear (approx. 10'swath). Great combination between the 2, the cutter bar could reach into the edges & give approx. 180 deg.(up & down) for banks/ditches, & the sidewinder could bush hog any of the big or thick stuff (saplings, brush etc.) The tire had shims which you could take out as the tire wore, & you could flip the tire to the other side once one side was worn out (it took a while to wear out). No gear box or shear pins to deal with. A great system!

Appreciate the feedback. I am thinking it does look like a good smooth system. And easy on the old Farmall M transmission.

Factory, but I forget who made it.

Another member here has some homemade shredders that use a two ton rear end with the blade mounted on the pinion end.

those were kinda alright until the tire goes flat from thorns bring sucked under it. we had 3 or 4 guys with them, They would usually show up on a very hot day with a flat tire, we would spend an hour digging thorns out and cleaning everything up after they put slime or some other stuff in there. Always took a new tube as the rims sit around and got rusty so a TL tire would not stay up.
