My dad passed away leaving a old Farmal A tractor. I don't know much about the tractor,it's been around for 45-50 years and I'm sure he did not buy it new . It does have electric start or handcrank ,the front tires are wide. Can anyone give me any idea what this tractor is worth so I can buy it thank you

Running or not, any implements, and condition of the tires has a HUGE effect on price.
A's really aren't worth a whole lot, maybe $1200 for a really nice one, up to $1500-1600 for one with new tires. Non running with a loose engine and cracked old tires that hold air, maybe $500.

If it has the mid-hydraulic lift it is called a Super A....those are worth considerably more than a regular 'A' with no hydraulics. That will make a difference in price from about $500 non-running to about $1,000 non-running. Implements will add a little more to the value since they're useless without them and they're hard to find. Also, why are you "buying" your dad's old tractor? Doesn't make sense to me, he didn't leave it to you?

Since it is your brother, I'd offer $1000. Has a nice ring to it and everyone should stay happy. (and it's a fair price for a decent A)

In that situation, I don't really care about money, I can always make more. I'd own that tractor.
