Farmall 856 lose of TA hydraulic pressure.

I bought a 856 about a month ago and when i got it nothing on it electrical worked so i got to work fixing that and am happy to report that all lights and gages now work but the light for the pressure on the TA works as it should with the TA in the back position(comes on when you press the clutch and goes out before the clutch grabs and you move) but when you put the TA forward it stays on and wont go out, what could be causing that it will go out if you pull back on the TA far enough that plunger is up about 1/4 of an inch so is it a valve or something leaking i really dont know anything about TAs so im lost. The guy told me when i bought it that he had put a new clutch and TA in it. Also all the hydraulics work as far as steering and brakes and the tractor runs great with TA forward and back so im not sure why the light is staying on when TA is forward. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Best case o ring in MCV. Worst case double split. If TA was just done I would suspect supply tube to TA. That would be good news. DO NOT RUN IT SLIPPING

Its not slipping at the moment but we can use it on the low end for now since that looks to be working right and unless the guy was lying the ta was just done before i bought it.

Thats why i had said i was going to use it on the low end if i have to until i can get it fixed, i am ordering a kit to replace all the gaskets and orings and i might even do the springs in the mcv this week.

Why do you say to not run it slipping, and what are the signs of a TA that is slipping. I have recently purchased a 1967 Farmall 706 which runs ok besides the fact that the H-L-N-R lever is quite sloppy. In driving forward as well as in reverse, it moves fine until you turn the wheels sharply one way or the other, then the tractor hesitates in its forward or rearward motion. Increasing engine speed helps, as well as engaging the TA,it will pull through the turn. I guess that the power steering is demanding fluid that isn't going somewhere else. I don't know why that would inhibit the forward motion of the tractor. Any advice would be appreciated.
