i am looking at buyng a Farmall AV and the serial number on the engine starts with M, i didnt get the rest of the numbers written down, i think it is a 47 , what does the M represent.

not uncommon on later tractors built in 47 or else the block has been changed you have a tractor thats been out of production for 70yrs so you have no way to tell if the block has never been changed or it left th factory that way. Is the cast code on the block close to the cast codes on other parts like tranny case that would give you a clue if the block is still original. I have two later models produced in summer of 47 like July with that prefix and i know they are original.
