Question,,,,,Is the copper tube that slips into the top and bottom of the cub carb a vital part. I have one that the tube is broken, also what is this called.....Thanks

that is idle tub if its broke where it goes into top of carb clean threds in top of carb rethread top of tube put back in.just that little shorter will be ok

How do you get the broken threaded piece out of carb ?

Use a 3/32" left hand drill bit in a hand drill. Gently and slowly work on the broken stub and quite often they will back out. If you need a tap to clean the threads it is 4-48, NOT 4-40.

I abandoned the IH Cub carb about 20 years ago. It was replace with a bolt in Zenith and I never regretted it. Starts on the first starter pull. I think you can get one from this site.
