I fouled up.
Getter read to button up the engine on my Farmall A, the last internal component to go in is the oil pump. I wanted to make sure the bottom plate was flat so I removed it and thought "might was well pull the whole thing apart and clean it". Well in the process I put a small bend in the shaft (I didn't notice it was keyed up top and put probably put to much pressure on it, I should have know better. Live and learn I guess). Rolling it on a flat surface shows some wobble.
Most of it is right at the top where the drive gear is pressed on. I fooled around a bit trying to true it but haven't had much luck. It goes in the housing just fine and doesn't bind...
Am I better off finding another pump? I think the shaft is NLA and even if it wasn't I'm sure it would cost an arm and a leg. Pretty mad at my self at the moment.
