Need a serial number

It's been many years, but as I recall you need a serial number to get the new gas caps for Farmalls. I have a couple here I was going to get caps for, but one is my old A and the seat framework has long since been replaced. I need an A serial number to send in. Does anyone have an A they have junked with a serial number that hadn't been used for a replacement cap?

Use the engine serial on the head near #1 plug. Long odds on a duplicate. Jim

What Jim said unless you have a real late A. Provided tractor has the original engine the chassis and engine number was the same up to and including serial number 201,000.

isent it in w/no reply,called the number and they were shiped w/o numbers just told him the models good luck stumper

It would be better to just be truthful and state the serial # is awol.

"Serial number missing". Worked for me. Twice.(not the same tractor)

I have sent in the engine number, identified as such with a note that the serial number plate was missing. Got the cap, no problem.
