I found a new one for me. Went and picked up a 400 gas last night that gas the suffix DS. Serial number 15763 DS. I noticed a few differences on the engine as well. But really want to see if I am right. So what does the suffix DS stand for and what differences should I see? I appreciate the help and education as alway!

The "D" indicates 5000 foot altitude components which would be a different cylinder head, pistons, etc. while the "S" indicates it has a TA (torque amplifier) with provision for 540 independent PTO with the later ones being basic ad common features of that model, Hal.

Not aiming to give Hal a hard time but the type piston changed compression. Head would originally be the same as any other gasoline.
Probably doesn't affect worth much. Most all have a different piston and sleeve set from original with a 1/8 inch bigger bore by now.
