Power Steering for a C

I have a question about this. My father has a Super C that we use quite a bit on the farm for cultivating tobacco. We would like to put a Char Lynn power steering orbit motor on it, just to make it a little easier day. Could you put a bypass block on the lines coming out of the touch control reservoir to power the steering motor and still be able to use the touch control for lifting and lowering the cultivators?
Thanks

I think a p/s pump from a Honda car would work great for your SC.
Pumps are small, and use a remote reservoir(mid 80s car).

If you have a wide front and are straddling 2 rows (3 furrows), you will be happier with a narrow or single front. I don't know the spacing of tobacco rows.

Update . The power steering on the Farmall C is finished. My father finished it Sunday, the port block works fine and steers really nice. He ordered the port hydraulic bypass off of ebay. Its made by a guy from up in New York States farm country. His name is Pete, nice guy. His Ebay I.D name is Zoarvalleyllc.

Ok I will try to do that. It really works good though. Its' true that a C and Super C aren't very hard to steer, however if you sit on one for 5 or 6 hours a day and sometimes even longer, the power steering that he added makes life a little nicer.

We've had those Charlynn motors split open when the system is dead-headed, even with a relief valve.

I'm a little concerned that might happen if you hook into something that the touch control can't lift. If all you're doing is cultivating it'll probably be okay, though.

I really want to do this to my Super A because it has a loader on it, and steering is rough.

You could get in touch with Pete who makes the bypass blocks ,he could explain it to you but its very simple after you see it. Cultivating is the only lifting that the tractor does for us. The bypass block makes the cultivators lift independent from the steering anyway. Its a simple set up for a light duty tractor.
