Well I finished putting the 450D back together yesterday. Total cost for repair parts $778. All parts were CIH oem from the dealer. Parts used were valve cover gasket, head gasket, oil pan gasket,1-thermostat and gasket, 1-sleeve, 1-set rings and 4-set rod bearings. Also changed anti-freeze, oil bath oil, both fuel filters and oil filter. Total cost including fluids and filters just over $1000. Now to get 1 new rear tube, 2 front tubes and 2 front tires...Nearly $300 still to go. Thanks to all who answered questions as I asked.

It will be worth it. Well done. They are efficient and fun to operate. Unique design from the first 1/2 of 20th century. Designed to be able to be hand cranked. Jim
