Thanks to Jim I got the hyd. oil drained , installed newly acquired strainer and put in a bit over 1 gallon of hydraulic fluid . I know it takes 5 1/2 quarts but it wouldn't take it , so I stopped and was going to crank it up and circulate the fluid . After a bit ,fluid started coming out the vent . Can anyone tell me what to do ?
Thanks

I have thought about it and decided to let it run and overflow just to see if it might be over full . It did slow down for awhile but the lift is not working now . Before I started it did move a little . Help !!!

check engine oil level, could be pumping hydralic oil into crankcase.....due to pump seal..........dewy

If the oil is coming out of the vent, it's not going into the crankcase, but it won't hurt to check. Only takes 2 seconds. Pull the dipstick. If it's over full, then its getting into the crankcase.

That won't fix the blowing out the vent problem. That much I know. What will fix the blowing out the vent problem? I don't know. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Only thing I can theorize is there is a blockage somewhere preventing the pump from sucking oil and it's just pressurizing the reservoir with air, pushing oil out the vent.

IT looks like it is going to the crankcase . The oil level is a little high . It seems I get about 10 minutes on a oil change . This will be the third time .
Should I get a kit to redo the seals or just bust the bank on a new pump ?
