Thought I'd post a few pictures of my 1950 mccormick w9 at work doing some spring discing with an ih disc. Tractor ran great without any problems after working on the engine this winter.

Around here in SJ you almost never see these. I just love how the W-9 tractors look with their chunky looks of power!

In my young growing up days on the farm in Indiana I saw pictures of those in farm magazines, never saw one in real. Dad would say "those are for wheatland" too "big" for our farm. Years later he had a much "bigger" tractor. Funny how opinions change depending partly on what's around the neighborhood.

Thats a beauty!! Who ever had that tractor took great care of it the grill is soooo nice. I would love to hear it purring
along on a threshing machine.

Really nice original! I wish I had mine up and running. Had to borrow the neighbors 4020 for the disc.

Can you give us a rough idea of location? Great looking tractor. I have many hours on a WD-9, and a WDR-9 in North Dakota in the 1950s.
The WDR-9 had a hand clutch and rectangular cross section rear fenders. I recently saw a WR-9 with a foot clutch and the rounded cross
section rear fenders.

I bought the tractor last fall out in North Dakota. It had a loader mounted on it and boy was it a club. It ran but very rough. The starter drive was bad in it as well, in turn that took out the flywheel ring gear. Ended up taking everything apart for a simple ring gear. Ended up rebuilding the carb, and it had a miss that I could not get rid of. I ended up pulling the head and had my uncle do a valve job. Cleaned everything up and put back together and now she just purrs. I am located in Rockford Minnesota.

Nice rig, I grew up with a WR 9 and a super WDR 9 and
learned if it will pull the load it doesn't matter qhere
the throttle lever is , it will pull idling or wide open
just plain old bears.
