international 260A backhoe injector pump

please help me I am in the same boat with my 260A payhoe. can you let me in on which pump and how you timed it to work. any help would be greatly appreciated. my phone number is 903-824-4878 incase its easier to text or call with info . Hi Firehog, I looked up an IH 260A backhoe on tractordata.com and it says the engine is a German D-239 with a Bosch injection pump. This engine is also used in IH 574 and 684 tractors plus many other applications.

Could you tells us what was done to the injection pump. Did you just remove it and have it serviced and then re-install it?
It could be 180 degrees out of time.

Read the thread about 574 with D-239 and it will give you some suggestions.

If you still have problems post back a response.

well my problem is not with timing but finding a reasonably priced pump. local shop is wanting several thousand if he can rebuild , and he told me I could not use one off another d-239 engine , he actually told me if he cant fix it I am out of luck and have an expensive boat anchor because you cant buy a new pump rebuilt used ones are $3000. and up. I would love to find a substitute pump just so I can prove this guy wrong. second problem is somewhere over the years someone destroyed data plate so other than knowing its a bosch EP/VA4/???? again any help is greatly appreciated.

You and dozens of others are in the same boat. From what I read in the other thread, parts are getting scarce and it's a matter of supply and demand.

IIRC the original poster found a different pump that fit with some minor modifications to the injector lines.

yes that original poster is who I am trying to find does anyone have contact info for him? wanting to know what pump and where he got it as well as what was done to make it work . . again any help is appreciated..

Hi Firehog, try to get the attention of Dieseltech he is very knowledgeable on these Bosch pumps and also rebuilds pumps.

Whats is wrong with your pump? Just leaking Diesel into crankcase or more serious problems?

Hi, I did a google search and the link below is a company that has a kit to replace the Bosch IP with a CAV DPA IP.
