cub blowing water

I have an old cub that I keep around for the garden. It has a fast hitch and I have cultivators, bottom plow, a disc, rear scrape blade front blade and a carry all. I've never thought it had much power but then again it ain't supposed to. My question is why does it blow water out of the exhaust pipe whenever I start it up. It is parked under shelter and will even do it if parked inside the shop. I don't guess it hurts anything but it sure does make a mess. What causes this? Thanks, Nat

Mine does that too as well as other tractors especially when it is cold. It is condensation from the burned fuel. One of the products of combustion is water, so when the muffler is cold it condenses and water squirts out. You can really notice this in cars and trucks where the exhaust pipe is long. I have seen streams of water coming out.

For every 5 gallons of gasoline burned, a gallon of water is created. Hydrogen being burnt is H2O Dihydrogen Monoxide. Jim

When weather conditions are right ANY engine will do that. Shoot if you watch cars and trucks much you will see they at times have water coming out there exhaust it is just a fact of life
