Dealer question

Is there a way to find out where a tractor was sold from? I know I can find out which factory it was made from but some if possible would like to find out where it was purchased too. Not for any useful reason other than I'm just curious.

I'm guessing your only hope might be if you know any of the history of your tractor would be to contact former owners to see if you could trace it back. And old established dealer MIGHT have the records, but only if they have been in business that long.
Good luck!

The one thing the old timers have told me that after the war, they were shipped out on rail cars, and there was usually 5 to a flatbed car. You would think they would of been consecutive serial numbers !

I have NO IDEA why you would think consecutive serial numbers would be loaded on a rail car!

FARMALL used a mixed model scheduling system. If they built 350 tractors a day and built 100 tractors for a specific area serviced by a specific railroad terminal, they would build one of those 100 tractors, then build 3-4 other tractors, then build another of the 100 tractors. Then 3-4 other tractors, then the third of the 100. It all had to do with leveling out the daily demand for specific parts used on the different models of tractors. The West Yard at FARMALL had room for over a thousand tractors back in those days, that was enough to keep shipping busy for 3-4, maybe 5 days without building another tractor.

Well tell us how to get ahold of him! He could make a fortune selling the information for $10 a pop.
