height to top of steering wheel on M

Anyone know the height to the top of the steering wheel on an M?

The Owners Manual states 78 1/4" to top of steering wheel with standard tires and wheels which are noted as 11 X 38". Most M tractors currently have 13.6 X 38" tires and wheels so this might be somewhat short if the tractor has something else for tires and wheels. The taller MV model is noted as 90 1/4" high with 10.00 X 36" tires and wheels so a straight M is most likely somewhere in between if you are looking for minimum vertical clearance less the muffler. My owners manual is dated April 1949, Hal.

with 13.6 - 38 tires it will fit under a 7 foot garage door with a couple inches to spare with the muffler removed

It will go with out muffler and you better be flexible enough to bend over to drive it in and no hand on top of steering wheel.

An 8' door will accomodate a Farmall M with 13.6x38 rear tires AND the muffler in place.

and don't hit your head on the garage door opener . Yes it is uncomfortable going in and out.

Thanks guys, My garage door is 80 inches tall. I will remember not to put my knuckles on top of the wheel as I go in =)

I seem to remember a guy was killed backing out of the shed or garage and didn't remember to bend to the side. He was pinned between the steering wheel and the door. Since hearing about that incident I am very careful when backing the tractors out of my garage with the 7 foot door.
