where and what specific battery for 6V M

I now only use Carquest batteries. Have not had a 6v from CQ that did not last at least 7 years. I had five Interstates that didn't do 3 years. Battery in my Ford tractor is nine years old this month.

Batteries sold at discount places are made cheaper. Just pick one up. A lot of difference in there weight.

A Group 3 (THREE) was originally installed in Farmall Ms. Last NAPA catalog I have lists one as part #7206. We had an M with fire crater pistons and a Super M head. Dad was too tight to buy a Group 3 battery and put in a Group 2. Most times we had to pull it off.

If it is not a show or parade tractor, just change it to 12 volts with an alternator and forget it.

I replaced a Group #65 Die Hard Gold about six weeks ago that was TWENTY YEARS OLD. Was in my 12V Stage II Super H that's my #1 snow mover. Three guesses what I replaced it with and the first two don't count.

Blain's Farm & Fleet sells Sears Die Hard batteries and Craftsman tools now. They were $60 cheaper than the Sears store but Sears matched F&F's price.

Group #65 is the size battery used in older Ford F-series pickups.

I have a 6 volt TSC battery in my Farmall B that's been in over 7 years and still going strong. It is on a battery maintainer when tractor is not in use.

I also use battery maintainers on my tractors during the off season and periods of non-use and it has really made a difference in battery life, Hal.
