Super C Serial Number??

Just went out to look at a SC I have for sale, to get the serial number off of it, it says FC in the model, and then in the serial line, 169058 J. What is the J? It isn't the same writing/stamping as the serial number, and it is a little crooked, but it is there! Thoughts? Anything special?

The Super C serial number had a "FC" prefix. The sequential numbers were generally 100001 and above. The J prefix means that the factory installed a Rockford clutch. That may not be accurate any more, depending on previous clutch repairs.

Did that make them better or worse? I have seen the flywheel looking up from the bottom side, didn't see anything special up in there?!?! :p

No.

Not much difference to see. The parts of one clutch look different than the other. The Rockford has 6 springs under the back plate, Auburn has 3 under the fingers.

You can see both in the parts catalog.
