IHC 1066, fuel in crankcase

Hi

I think my 1066 has fuel leaking into the crankcase. Is this possible and how so?

While moving the tractor home tonight in high gear, the oil pressure dropped and the engine began to get hot. When I pulled the dipstick, the level was over full and smelled very much like diesel. It was very watery in appearance as well.

I recently bought the tractor which had an engine oil change at the time. The level of oil on the dipstick was above the full mark and hasn't seemed to move for the hours I've used it, however, it seems to have thinned out.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

There are a couple of places in the fuel pump that can leak fuel into the crankcase.

Also, I have seen a few engines that pumped the crankcase full of fuel from a failed injection nozzle or even a push rod on one. Guy didn't realize the engine was misfiring. That is the truth. They were on combines so harder to hear engine.

Buy a manual(under 40 bucks) to assist with removeal and installation. Take it to a pump shop.Unless you're an 'expert'
mechanic,do not attempt to reseal/rebuild the pump yourself.

The Ambac model 100 pump can leak internally at the lower hydraulic head seal, control unit O ring, gear pump shaft seal, or a housing pin hole at the control unit retaining screws. Repaired a 1466 recently for the same issues but it had external leaks as well. While injectors can leak into the crankcase too they are more likely to cause a miss..
