If your glasses are getting it so are your lungs. A positive pressure mask from clean air is needed in that situation. To your health. Jim

Clean your glasses with fingernail polish remover. Pretty much just lacquer thinner, but works well and does not damage plastic lenses. Don't have fancy coatings on my lenses, though.

I'm with Jim, there are inexpensive supplied air systems out there. I bought one before painting the Cub. Well worth the investment. Good for cleaning out dusty places too.

+1 on that Jim. I painted over a dozen tractors in the 90's with nothing more than a charcoal cartridge mask. Not too sure I didn't do a couple with a flimsy paper mask. Long story short is I ended up with Leukemia in 2011. Did the painting have anything to do with this? There is no way to know. It could have been that, 20 years of farm chemicals, or just bad luck as my doctor said. Bottom line is I wouldn't take a chance if I ever went back to painting. Supplied air or I wouldn't do it or all.

I have the breathe cool with full face mask and longer hose, it works very well if you make sure the compressor is in clean air.

I coil the extra hose in a bucket of ice water in the summer, just like having AC.

Rubbing alcohol works very good, and will not do any damage.

I am not sure about lacquer thinner and glasses. The eyeglass wipes from Bausch & Lomb, and from Zeiss contain a high percent of isopropyl alcohol (rubbing) and I know it does not hurt my plastic lenses.

Funny you mention that.

Last time I went to the eye doctor for new glasses, the doctor asked if he could keep my glasses as a conversation piece.

They were so scraped and scratched up and had a lot of overspray on them. Just got that way over time.

He was amazed that I wore them all, or that I could actually see through them.

I told him I always had to tilt my head to see out one of the clear spots.

He found it fascinating that somebody would live like this.

What can I say, I'm a fascinating guy.
