First 1967 1206

If it is a good tractor and you need it or can resell it for a bit more, then it is great. I do not think its serial makes it special at 1/3 of the production in the past. Interesting like matching a serial with your birthday. Jim

So what do they do with the one that they use for testing, i heard the first one or two were tested in Texas? Is that a test tractor tractor you think, 7501 ?

Fellow in Missouri keeps a list of 1206 and knows a good bit about them. If I remember correct he has a family tractor and a preproduction model or knows of some. Goes by red reaper online. Could probably give a opinion on a 67. My opinion is since all 1206 in good condition or original condition are worth a good bit the first one in 67 probably not worth more or much more unless some ones looking for a family tractor with that serial number.
fastfarmall first tractor in 67 wouldn't be preproduction.

Ok, Good point. But that guy that keeps track of 1206's, serial numbers, and took his too Florida for the IHC dealers convention, that's Kristen Gall , isn't it?

There are a couple of 1206 prototypes/preprodutions out there. They apparently numbered them starting with 501. Kristin Gall owns one he is restoring, I believe Danny Anderson in Minnesota has one as well. I believe 7501 would be the first production tractor.

To me it is just a 1206 , now if it was the vary first one then to me it is still a 1206 . Same as my S/MTA , is it a trailer queen , not hardly . It was bought as a second tractor that had live hyd and live PTO so i could have one tractor on the planter and one on the disc. A back up tractor in case the other one got stuck as it easier to find a tractor driver then to find a extra tractor and driver when you get stuck so when i did get stuck now i had two to pull me out instead of just my four wheel drive pick up . Now to me a rare tractor to me is one that they only made a hand full of , not something that were made for a couple years and were upgraded to the next new model . To me it is and upgrade over my 806 but if i had one it would be a work tractor not a trailer or shed queen . Ya want a tractor with some value then ya need the one my Accountant has a John Deere 430V i know how much he has turned down for that one as he says that is his retirement fund .

The starting serial number in 1967 for a 1206 is shown as 12731. I personally would not think that would make it anything special but may be wrong. If it was first or last ever built that would be a totally different story.
