Was watching the Mecum auction, I believe in Iowa, yesterday on RFD and they sold a 1952 Farmall H that ended up bringing $40,000!!!!!!!!!! They talked to the previous owner after the sale so wasn't an estate sale and he seemed a little surprised as well!!! Was pretty straight tractor in its "everyday clothes" looked like new tires but,,,,,,,,$40,000???????? Someone enlighten me, am I missing something here??????

This was a big multiple-post topic on here around November (?) timeframe a few months ago. You must have missed them.

It still is unbelievable.

Checking back you are correct and I had remembered hearing about it then but thought that it was from an estate but see that wasn't the case!!! Still hard to believe!! Think they showed a Case that also brought near that 40,000!!! Must be some money out there after all, seems the old tractor prices aren't really too bad, especially if its something someone wants money doesn't seem to be a factor, except when its coming out of my pocket, probably because there just isn't that kind of "funds" in there!!!

(quoted from post at 07:46:42 01/27/16) I have a good straight late 52 H. First $35000 takes it.

I have a nice, straight '50 H with new rear tires. I would take $30,000, and throw in the #31 loader that is on it.

It supposedly did only a couple of years of light work with the original owner before it went semi-retired with its last owner. The total amount of hours was supposed to have been very low as in a few hundred hours total operation. That would have described quite a number of H's around here as many small farms quit running after WWII as the owners went to work in town. The tractors followed the owner into town or stayed on the five or so acres the owner kept with the H running one hour per year plowing garden until 1980 and/ or five hours clearing snow per year with some years such as this where there has been no snow to plow (thankfully). Any one of those owners who are still living must be kicking themselves for not being able to cash in the H for a nice new vehicle if they so chose.

(quoted from post at 10:12:51 01/27/16) Yea everybody got a Nice H for sale, for that kind of money!!Including me.

I have another H I would sell for just $15,000. It does need reassembled. I might even have all the parts. Somewhere.

Shoot I have a 1939 H that's a great tractor !! Had her out last night hauling fire wood. She starts on the 3 revolution also has a loader on her and in her old work clothes. Id sell her for $35,000 any day of the week.LOLOLOL.........Kenny

I'll take offers on my Super H??? anybody??? You see, I think the problem with the prices here is everybody is undercutting the other until its down to $1200. Age old question...hold em or fold em.

Since no one took me up on my $15,000 asking price, I guess I'll just part it out. Oh wait, I already did that.
