So tonight I tried pressuring fuel tank no fuel pop the cover off top filthy fuel grim laying in thier so I took that little cover off were the timing marks are and drained it thier! So I been reading online about how easy these pumps are to clean and re seal are they really that easy? Is it worth a shot to try this myself? I see some places one a thousand to 1250 to exchange! Local guy wants 1350 it seems no matter what he does to a bosch pump! First rosa master I have messed with! So real question is is it possible to be cheap or is thier no way around spending a good grand on this pump!

You don't need to spend a grand, BUT, you do need to know what you are doing in taking it apart to not cause irreparable damage. Last one I did I charged 100 bucks but I don't think I would do one for that price anymore. Just have to know what you are looking for inside and what not to mess with. You need a good book (IH had some really good books on those Roosa Masters and even then, a few things are untold.

Pete 23 is spot on, don't need to spend the farm but a novice mistake gets expensive fast. Never a good feeling telling a customer when he brings pieces that there's not enough to fix now. Had a rare IH 350D utility pump last week to repair, was able to salvage it even though it was very rusty inside from setting with water in the fuel.
