C135 spark plugs

What plug does everyone recommend for this engine? Tractor is a 404 just used on a hobby farm. I am rebuilding the engine and plan on installing an electronic ignition as well. Thanks.

These numbers are for D18 Champion. If you run the tractor for hours at full load, the D16 or equivalent is good. These are for medium duty on a engine that does not burn oil. If it is not used hard and just idled and intermittent work, D21 or equal is best. Delco C86S, Autolite 6116, Bosch M10AC0, Denso 5001, Motocraft B82, NGK A6

A champion D 15Y, D 18Y are both projected nose plugs that IH recommended in about 1970 to replace the 8 Comm that came in new tractors back then. D15Y for regular use, D18Y for lighter use and D21 for tinkering around. D21 is not projected core but has fine electrode. All auto stores listed the D16 because the 8comm was made exclusively for IH and the plugs were very similar but according to champion, not out of the same die. A projected core plug always has a wider range of use due to self cleaning aspects of the nose. Some of the Autolite plugs a lot of guys prefer are also projected nose plugs where as the D16 is not.
