So tonight I got home from work little early still daylight figured ah its a little warmer wanted to see if I could get this old 656 to fire yes it does need motor but want to see if it will run first! Anyhow didnt get it to start and when I cranked it over I heard a squeal/ grind like and seen the tack drive screwed up outta the housing and popped the plug out! Will try to attach a pic! Any thoughts maybe why hoping to get this unit in the shop this weekend maybe!

Hi, the tach drive cable is frozen or rusted to the outer shield. The tach drive is a worm gear and if the cable doesn't turn the worm drive gear just climbs the drive gear pushing the plug out of the end.
