Stainless muffler question

I was going to put the recommended stainless steel muffler on my 300, but a friend of mine said he put one of these on his 350 with 1 7/8" outlet and said it was very loud. So he used it on an H of his and put one recommended for an M with the larger outlet on the 350. Has anyone had the same results or not?

Check Steiners Tractor parts they are getting a few IH muffler in stainless steel with baffles in them. The have a online catalog.

Now answer me this if a H and M take a 2 inch pipe that is about 2 1/4 on the out side and a 706 takes a 2 1/2 inch pipe that is about 2 3/4 on the outside how many beer cans do you have to wrap around the pipe on the H and M to fit tight?? I never really thought that a straight thru muffler on a h-450 was that loud . My buddy complains about how loud my 806 is with the stock muffler . Yes it is louder then the 1066 due to the fact that the 1066 has a different design in the muffler and it has the turbo. The baffled mufflers add in back pressure . Ya want LOUD put a straight pipe on one . Then you will be happy with the I H 10 muffler. Many years back when i got done with the total rebuild on the 1066 and it got it's shinny new paint job my Buddy brings down this nice shinny special order STAINLESS straight pipe with the cute 90degree bend and tells me here put this on , Said to Eugene that YOU WON"T LIKE THIS , oh yea it will LOOK GOOD , YOU WON"T LIKE THIS , go get the correct muffler . NO go ahead and put that on it will look good. OK so i put the nice shinny pipe on . Couple days later it was in the filed pulling the 782 New Holland forage chopper chopping corn . After the third round and the third wagon . Eugene tells me his ears are ringing . You could hear the 1066 three and a half miles away . It got a new muffler before wagon # 4 was filled. The sound of a old M-450 working hard sounds sweet to me with the straight thru muffler. Now what drives me up the wall is the rain cap on the 806 with it's rattling under load . They keep falling off and Eugene keeps putting them back on . I like the bean can over the pipe , they don't rattle and at start up if ya do it correctly you can catch it on the way down from start up and never leave the seat to pick it up.

It;s the long bodied muffler , I havent bought one for a long time, but it fit's a M thru 450, i thought it was for a 706, . I am 1800 miles from home now, so cant get the number of it.

There is a difference in sound between the straight through Stanley and the IH baffled muffler for M-450. I run a stainless steel straight pipe on the 450 for pulling and around home I use the IH baffled muffler. The a 3 1/2" straight pipe makes a lot of racket but I get about 3-5 horse more running straight pipe .

YEp that is why i run the Stanley . If ya want to drop the noise a bit add a foot to the top , but stay away from over hanging trees and such .
