Engine block size

I recently bought a Super C Farmall. It has a block # 356318. Looks like from a combine. Is that a c113 or c123 block?

What makes you think it's from a combine? A friend has a C with a combine engine. The starter location/position is different, the engine is different on the front. In fact, the SC bolster(mounts) are so different that a whole different front had to be 'manufactured'.

A 123cid engine (or newer) will likely have the C-123 cast into the block near the oil filter. A 113 usually will not. Jim

The rear of the block has a place where on the combine , the starter would be. The starter is still in the clutch housing as before. It has a dipstick at the rear of the oil filter & the oil gauge would not fit there & the fitting is to the side. I will have to remove the filter to check if I have that # right too.

Cast in the block, not stamped. I will have to take the filter off & see if I have it right. Hard to see now.

Think that number block uses 123 size components or the same as 123 blocks 354898. Think 356318R3 or 354898R4 or higher suffix has a difference in sleeves from lower suffix blocks.
