Farmall H value?

I need some advise guys. My dad is falling on hard times and wants to sell his 42' Model H which belonged to my great grandpa who bought it brand new in 1941. I need to know an approximate value so I will describe its condition as best I can.

Engine was redone 15 years ago. Due to higher compression needed to switch over to 12v with alternator as the old 6v would not turn it over. So it has pleanty of power. Fresh paint and decals were done 10 years ago. It is magneto ignition. Has 13.6 tires which are matched and 90%. It has the spoke rear wheels, and the rims have never seen calcium. It has cultivators, 2 row I beleive, and had the drawbar for when you take the rear cultivators off. Hydraulics work as well.

I wish I had a pic, but I don't so this is the best explanation I can give. I am in WI by the way.

Any help would be great.

Thank you!

I am debating. He is also selling a John Deere R which is the one he is really attached to and so am I. I am thinking about offering him 5K for the pair..... He will totally regret it if he sells them.

Ok thank you guys, I appreciate your input. I will see if I can work a deal out with him this weekend.

So the starter is not up to par or it would have turned engine over and going to 12v makes it not original around here 8-900 would stop it but your location can make a difference tires ect.

Fixer2u,

Since it's a family tractor, and if you have room to store it inside, buy it. I own my dad's H and will never sell it; at tractor shows where I have an exhibit I meet people every year who are filled with regret over letting the family tractor get away. They are so sorry that happened.

I am in Sauk Co, WI, am I close to you?

Thank you for the advise.

I live in Waukesha, but our land where we keep our tractors are in Westfield. So at times we are not too far away.

Just as a follow up, I was able to work out a deal with my dad, So I am now the owner of his H and JD model R both previously owen by my Great Grandpa.
