86 series cab quirk

I picked up my new 886 and was using it to chore. It's a fun little machine.

I noticed a quirk I thought I had heard about. It was raining and after dark. The wipers and fan wouldn't work. I didn't notice it at first, but the dash lights weren't working either. Suddenly they came on. Just for giggles I tried all of the switches and the fan and wipers worked.

Later after I had shut down the tractor for a bit they didn't work again. After giving it a fed minutes everything worked again.

Is there a ground somewhere I need to check? I thought I remembered something about that.

Cab solenoid.

The cab solenoid is in the lowest part of the dash in front of your feet. It's kind of a pain to replace.

I wired a small green indicator lamp in the corner of our 1086 dash, hooked to the output side of the cab solenoid. When we first bought it, it had been setting for quite a few years and the solenoid was pretty "sticky", sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. I just wired that in there to know for sure that it had connected. After using the tractor more, the issue went away.
