Friend with Farmall trouble

i to all,
I have a friend that has an an older International Haverster 1962 560 Farmall and is furiously trying to get a snow blower attachment working before the snow hits us here in the U.P of Michigan. I told him it is possible someone on the internet could have the information he needs to make it work. He is having problems with the PTO hydraulics as he can lift the blower up in the air but it refuses to come back down. He has a INT manual and opened to page 79 and thinks that might be the problem but is not sure. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

John

To this day I have found no faster way to bail water from a sinking boat than a scared man with a bucket. Dad

If he has the lift system hooked to the tractors hydraulic valves, he might have the Single Double acting control on the valve he is using in the wrong position, or between positions. They are flat sided knobs on the valve opposite the handle end. a roll pin under a tin guide is to be found. S is single D is double. Jim

that happened on my 350u a while back, turned out it was a check valve or something of that nature, IIRC.
got help from the good people on this site to figure it out.

I agree. It is likely on single action. It could also be a check valve, but I'd certainly check the hydraulic selector first. It should be on double action.
