2 Farmall H's

I inherited 40 and 43 model H's. Both had been repainted in the mid 1990"S by my dad. Both have been converted to 12 volt. The 40 has a distributor and 43 has a mag and a 3 point lift. The hood is off the 43 because I am trying to get the alternator to fit properly. Had to replace the manifold on the 43 and oil and water temp gauges on both. Have been reading as many posts on H's as possible to gain as much knowledge as I can on these tractors. I grew up around Farmalls and have owned a 51 Cub for over 19 years. Also inherited a 1950 Case VAI. Have a 1950 JDA I am in the process of rebuilding.

he little Hitachi alternator fits in nicely.

The Delco alternator will fit, but it will be tight. I have to assemble the alternator / belt / hold-down bolt / etc. in place, for it to all fit. You really do not need to cut the hood, it will fit.

Will not cut the hood. The 40 has the same alternator. I just need to get everything lined up correctly.
