Is there a chance you could fix the PTO lever, right on the tractor,Find out what that piece looks like, make one, and tack weld it on. YOU DONT WANT TO TAKE THE PTO OUT THE BACK, unless there is no other way! The compression is a little low,but that will provide a good time to fix your clutch issue and what ever ails it in the tummy.

Well, I could potentially just weld the lever back on. Looks like someone else did it too and then it broke again. I just want to make sure its in the right position when i do. Whats the big deal on pulling the PTO shaft? I got the new part out of one in the salvage yard that was already out. It looked like you just pull the bolts and slide it out. Am I missing something?

You can replace the PTO shaft, simple enough, even avoid draining the grease by parking it nose down. Build an adapter so you can manipulate the front end of the shaft into position. If you try for several hours and can't get it stabbed you'll understand. But if you're careful it can be done, just like stabbing a three ft transmission shaft when you can't see it. Got to be right left right as well as up down.
