Hello Fellas,
Restoring a I-300-Utility . Have three remote valve system all seem to work well .
However, the power steering only works when anyone of the remote valves are engaged. I rebuilt one of the priority valve myself and bought the other from reputable source already rebuilt but NIETHER OF THE TWO makes a difference to power steering.
I am stumped need some Help!
Thank You ,In Advance,
Tony

When you had the priority valve off did you make sure this little plug was installed in the housing? These pictures are from a row crop tractor but I know that Utility tractor has this plug when equipped with powersteering. Hope this helps.

Thank you Charlieu!,
I am not sure. Where does it go ? I cannot make out part in picture.
Is the plug going on valve side or on tractor mounting.

The picture is of a Farmall tractor, not a utility. If you look in the parts book you will see a plug used for power steering applications and it is between the two front valves or possibly between valve and cover if only one valve . Parts book does not show the lines and fittings etc for a power steering that I can locate.

I did a little more searching of the online parts book. It is hard to find but power steering is shown in attachments. It shows the layout with three valves and one valve (not very clear about it though) but you can see the plug installed between I would call it number one valve and the reservoir. At any rate, something to look at to make sure you have all the parts needed installed for power steering add on. If that plug is missing, good chance that is your problem. We never had a 300 utility around here with power steering. They need it though.

It took me a while but I was able to find the plug. The housing on the tractor will have three different size holes for the oil to flow through. One is 1/4" one is 1/2" and the largest is 5/8". The plug that I have measures 1/2" so it goes in the 1/2" hole blocking it. On the housing that I have for a row crop tractor this is the way it is. The International Utility tractor should be about the same, because the part number for the plug is the same for both tractors. The small side of the plug has an O-ring for sealing it to the housing. I'm not sure if you were able to find this picture so I posted it anyway.

Charlie , Thank You so much for your help! I have not been able to find the plug.
However , by chance I disconnected the steel jumper line that goes from the rear valve to the two front valves and plugged the fitting at rear & front valve and NOW IT WORKS .
I don't know if this is correct as I know they all show the jumper line.
However the power steering is working well & the Fast hitch is operating up & down & the remote gets pressure when activating valve.
Any ideas on this happening ? Or is just a matter of time that system will mal-function?
Please your thoughts Charlie or any one familiar with these hundred series I.H.'s
Thank You ,Tony
