Super H paint

I have heard that there were several different reds on tractors as time went on. Is there a color name that would be the one for the Super H?

IH #50 was original to the earlier letter series, but I think They had already made the change to IH #2150 by the time the Super H came out. Even if the Super H had originally worn a coat of the #50, the IH sponsored update programs would have given it a coat of #2150.

The #50 is a darker red than the #2150.

The Harvester Red color numbers:

50 until 1949

1102-B 1949 - 1960

201 1960 - 1961

2150 1961 on (starting with 04/06 models)

It is unclear if 201 was a different shade or if it was just a new identification for the 1102-B color. This is ignoring the half yellow red of 1945 - 1947.

I agree with the 2150 coming in 1961--I thought that 201 came in 1958 with the coming of the 460/560. Not important because as far as I know 201 can't be mixed by any company.

Do you have codes for 1102B?

Just FYI, I was advised by the oldest guy at my Case-IH dealer to use Case-IH CNH red No. B17566N Iron-Gard Gloss-Red spray acrylic paint in the spray cans. I bought a 6-pak, painted my H, and like it a lot. Tht man told me for some reason, I never got the reason, that the 17566 paint was a better paint. I like it as lot, looks just like the new CNH tractors. Really don't know if it is better or not. Just FYI.
