ok working on my buddies c. changing out the v-reg as the old one was shot. it was wired so the field terminal on the genny was direct to the l-h on the light switch, manually controlling charge. the new v-r is a napa vr 850. it can use the field off the genny to connect to the vr to control the charge function. also has the L terminal on the v-reg unlike the original that has only 3 terminals. connect the genny F to the light switch or connect the genny F to the v-reg? thoughts?? heres a couple pics. btw genny does motor test fine.
pic of genny with new vr. armature wire is connected, bat is connected, field wire also there, shorter wire on harness that is not yet connected
